“I’m interested in the space between imagination and enterprise—where a point of view becomes something people can live with.”
Camille Tanoh is a French founder and creative director of Ivorian roots, based in New York. Before founding The Proper Label, he developed his eye inside leading European fashion houses, with formative chapters at Paul Smith, Pierre Hardy, and Balenciaga during Nicolas Ghesquière’s tenure.
That experience gave him fluency in French savoir-faire: product development, material and proportion, image-making, brand language, and the discipline required to turn an idea into a coherent world. Today, he applies that independent skillset across fashion, sport, design, cultural storytelling, and company building.
A chronology of objects, uniforms, and worlds: ideas developed over time and given material form as products, collections, systems, and cultural propositions.
